GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan – The Ghazni Provincial Governor, Musa Khan, speaks to U.S. Department of State and Ghazni Provincial Reconstruction Team members about his vision for the province and future events Aug. 21 at the Governor’s Compound in Ghazni City. DOS members and the Ghazni PRT discussed issues about large-scale projects, changes in government personnel and a future governor’s conference. The governor said the conference’s main subjects will be elections and the new American battalion that is coming.  He also mentioned that the committee for the 2013 Center for Islamic Culture event in Ghazni City is making progress and there are 23 big projects planned to aid in city construction, including an Expo Center, a museum, two bus stations, a women’s market place and more. Zahid arrived in Ghazni last week from Wardak province and spoke fondly of his relationship in the past with the PRT and French Task Force in Kapisa province. GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Like all major cities, Ghazni City has to contend with waste removal from the city center, and dispose of it in a responsible, clean and ecologically safe manner. However, until recently, there was no safe and effective manner to dispose of sewage, as there was no sewage treatment plant in the area.
