Afghan Security Forces stop VBIED attack

NANGARHAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Local Afghan security forces successfully prevented a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) attack in Jalalabad district, Nangarhar province of eastern Afghanistan, today.

Afghan police officers detected and stopped a suspicious vehicle near Forward Operating Base Fenty. The vehicle exploded near the base but caused no damage or casualties.

“This is a great example of the Afghan police’s abilities to protect the population, said Maj. Jason Tussey, operations officer for Task Force Bastogne.
