LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan –  A new training and educational facility for Afghan National Police  was completed in the Pol-e Alam city, last month.

The new facility has several classrooms, a training tower for climbing and and an obstacle course.

While the educational center and tower was finished a few months ago, the obstacle course was recently completed and handed over to ANP last week.

General Mustafa, commander of the ANP in Logar, gave a speech during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

"These obstacles will help you [ANP] to improve your skills and experience,"Mustafa said. "In the end, it will be easier for you to bring security to more areas of Logar. The military training will also improve your discipline."

The completion of this facility was a team effort with the Czech PRT civilian team in charge of the construction, the soldiers of the PRT were in charge of military training in areas such as self-defense, first aid and weapons  training.

The curriculum for the new training facility was certified by the NATO training mission and named Focus District Development Program.

"This center will really strenghten the skills of our policemen,"Mustafa said.

"The people in Afghanistan, especially the people from Logar, are very satisfied with your [Coalition forces] assistance and support to the reconstruction process."

All constructions were funded and inspected by Czech Provincial Reconstruction Team in Logar.

The Czech PRT, consisting of ten civilian experts and 275 soldiers, has been assisting the Logar province since March 2008. Support of education, health system, infrastructure, security, agriculture, irrigation and independent journalism are its focus.
