KABUL, Afghanistan (July 12) –International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members responded to an insurgent improvised explosive device attack, which killed four Afghan National Policemen in the Charkh District of Logar Province in eastern Afghanistan on July 11.

ISAF troops responded to the scene and secured the site. ISAF service members treated and released one wounded ANP at a local ISAF base medical clinic.

“Attacks against the government intended to derail the progress in Afghanistan are becoming less effective every day as the resolve of Afghanistan’s citizens and security forces grows stronger.”  said Lt. Col. Clarence Counts, Regional Command-East spokesperson.

The incident is under investigation.
