ANA, ISAF forces repel attack

BAGRAM, Afghanistan (Dec. 2, 2012) – Afghan National Army and International Security Assistance Force Soldiers repelled a complex insurgent attack at Forward Operating Base Fenty in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, Dec. 2, 2012.

The attack occurred at approximately 5:52 a.m. at the installation in Jalalabad. Initial reports indicate three vehicle-borne suicide bombs detonated outside the perimeter of the installation but failed to breach it.

Afghan National Army and ISAF Soldiers successfully repelled the attack and prevented any insurgent fighters from entering the perimeter, causing numerous insurgent casualties in the process.

According to current operational reporting, one member of the Afghan Security Forces was killed and several others were wounded. ISAF officials are on the scene gathering facts, and as the operational details become available we will release more information as appropriate.
