TAGAB, Afghanistan – A civilian-military operation for the benefit of the Afghan population was conducted by the 32nd Kandak of the 3rd Brigade of the Afghan National Army in order to keeps good relations with the population by supporting the Tagab Medical Facility, June 23, 2012.
Supported by a unit of the French Battle Group Steel deployed around the District Central Province, the 32nd Kandak went to Tagab medical facility to provide 10 nursing beds. Afghan Lt. Col. Khair, commander of the 32nd Kandak, made the trip to meet the chief of the medical facility and to talk with him.
While this operation brought direct assistance to the population, the insurgents launched an attack after 30 minutes. The French support unit issued a response perfectly that was controlled and mensured.
At the clinic, the delivery of the beds ended quietly. The operation lasted one hour.
This operation was a success and allowed the ANA, the Afghan National Police (ANP) and the Afghan National Civil Order Police to work together.
