(Photo courtesy of Mahtab Farid, U.S. State Department)BAMYAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan - A group of young, aspiring, female journalists attended a one-day media workshop taught by Mahtab Farid, a public diplomacy officer with the U.S. State Department, at the Lincoln Center at Bamyan University June 4. During the workshop, students learned about the basics of journalism and interviewing skills. The director of Bamyan Radio, Ali Erfan visited the workshop with his senior reporter to help the class during the mock interviews. Students had a chance to practice interviews in front of the class and were given feedback on their progress. As part of the hands-on training, the students were invited by Erfan to visit the radio station to practice their voice and record some programming for the women of Afghanistan.
