GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Afghan women at the Department of Women’s Affairs in Ghazni city create hospital clothes and school uniforms for students in first to third grade May 25. The tailoring project, funded by U.S. Agency for International Development, provides paying jobs for 400 women and 100 men in Ghazni city for four months, and the clothes are donated to the schools and hospitals. However, until recently, there was no safe and effective manner to dispose of sewage, as there was no sewage treatment plant in the area.
