KUNAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – A 2nd Kandak Afghan National Army officer went on live radio at Coalition Forward Operating Base Blessing, Feb. 28.
The officer spoke to local Afghan listeners about security, Afghan National Army intentions for the area, and ANA operation in the Pech River Valley.
Nearby, a ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of a 25-kilometer, $8.2 million road project, Feb. 24.
The road took 545 days to complete and traverses the mountainous terrain of eastern Afghanistan. The asphalt road system will increase local Afghans’ ability to transport goods and people.
