KONAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan –Afghan National Army soldiers engaged with tribal elders in a village named Bar Dang in the Watapor District, Feb. 23.

The elders told the ANA that a water well, which employed five Bar Dang villagers, was completed. According to the elders, the well will provide clean water to 10 families in the village. 

 

In a different region of the province, improvements and the refurbishment of wells in the Tarale village in Pech district continue as district government officials and ISAF partner to achieve the task of renovating the water source.  

Fifteen villagers from Tarale are employed by the restoration of the well, which will supply water to 20 local families in Tarale. 

In the village of Nangalam, 20 students received certificates after graduating from a 30-day masonry class, Feb. 25. The students received a set of masonry tools after graduation, and were entered into the Monogai workers registry, which is an organization that matches skilled Afghans with employers.
