(U.S. Army courtesy photo)BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – A tip from a concerned Afghan citizen led Afghan National Policemen and Coalition forces to a weapons cache in the Mohammad Agha district of eastern Afghanistan’s Logar province, Feb. 17 and 18.

The tip led ANP to the cache site where they discovered 70 mortar rounds, 10 rocket propelled grenades and a machine-gun tripod during the evening, Feb. 17. The ANP seized the munitions, removing the threat they posed to the Afghan citizens.

The following morning, Coalition force servicemembers investigated the cache site finding and disposing of eight additional mortar rounds.

Later the same day, Coalition forces, while on patrol in nearby Nuristan province, found another stash of weapons that contained four 107mm rockets, 16 rocket-propelled grenade rounds, two fuses and two recoilless rifle rounds.
