Jennifer Lindsey, Combined Joint Task Force-82 Public Affairs)PAKTYA PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Members of Afghan Parliament met with the national army 203rd Corps, national police, border police and coalition forces leaders at Forward Operating Base Thunder in Paktya province, Oct. 29.

The purpose was for an overview of run-off election security plans for Paktya, Paktika, Khowst and Ghazni provinces, and the synchronization of all Afghan security forces and coalition support.

“Our security plan is complete and up for Ministry of Defense approval,” said Col. Sakhi Dad, 203rd Corps Operations Division chief. “We have plans on how to overcome any (security) challenges that may happen on election-day.”

Additionally, parliament members encouraged security commanders to participate in meetings with local leaders as a force multiplier.

“If the Afghan Security Forces and coalition forces have a good relationship with shura members, it’ll provide powerful support,” said Dauid Zazi, parliamentary representative.
