BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Afghan and Coalition forces detained two suspected militants during an operation today in Zabul province.

Credible intelligence led the combined force to the Shinkai District where they suspected Taliban-affiliated militants were hiding.

“Violent extremists are brutal outlaws who only contribute to instability and disrupt peace,” said Army Maj. Chris Belcher, a Combined Joint Task Force-82 spokesperson.

There were no injuries or deaths to non-combatants.

The detainees will be questioned as to their involvement in militant activities.
