PARWAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Coalition forces conducted a joint mission to disrupt a Taliban group that was operating in the Kohe Safi District of Parwan Province Sept. 5.
One insurgent was killed after he attacked the joint forces, and thirteen suspects were detained for further questioning.
“With the parliamentary elections nearing, it is essential that Afghan citizens know the ANSF will do everything possible to make the election process safe and secure,” said U.S. Army Col. Thomas E. Drew, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Task Force Wolverine deputy commanding officer. “Afghan security forces are working to ensure that the people can participate in the elections without disruption by insurgents.”
