KABUL, Afghanistan (July 06) – An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died of injuries sustained as a result of an insurgent attack that occurred in eastern Afghanistan today.
“It is with great pain and sorrow that we learned about the tragic death of yet another ISAF Soldier, killed in a firefight with insurgents in eastern Afghanistan. I wish to offer my sincere sympathies to the family members and friends of this brave Soldier as they grieve on this difficult day,” said Brigadier-General Eric Tremblay, ISAF Spokesperson.
“He lost his life to help bring security and progress to the war torn country of Afghanistan. His sacrifice, for which we are deeply grateful, will be remembered.”
It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
