KABUL, Afghanistan – International Security Assistance Force Soldiers uncovered a weapons cache in the Terazai District of Khost province in eastern Afghanistan June 11.
While on patrol in the area, U.S. Paratroopers from the 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division reported finding a cache of weapons and improvised explosive device making material.
The cache yielded 1,000 rounds of .303mm ammunition, seven blasting caps, two rocket propelled grenade boosters, one female wig, 27-feet of copper wire, a four pound bag of black powder, one 12-volt battery, two circuit boards, 100 feet of miscellaneous wire, two grenades, 1,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and one mine.
All of the munitions and materials were turned over to the Explosive Ordnance Detachment for disposal.
ISAF sustained no casualties or damages during this mission.
