KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces killed seven insurgents in the Nad Ali district, located approximately 515 km southwest of Kabul, Helmand province, Tuesday.
The combined forces were conducting a combat reconnaissance patrol when they were engaged by militants from multiple fighting positions using small-arms, indirect and rocket fire.
The combined forces responded with organic weapons, and killed them.
“As the Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces make continued progress on ground, insurgents will not stand,” said Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, Chief spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Defense. “Also, a firm foundation of security provides better well-being for the people of Afghanistan.”
No ANSF, Coalition forces or civilian casualties have been reported.
