One U.S. service member, ten Afghan civilians die in Eastern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – A suicide bomber today entered a meat market area of Bati Kot District, near Nangarhar province, and detonated the bomb, killing one U.S. service member, ten Afghan civilians and wounding 58 civilians.

The Afghan National Police have secured the scene, and are providing assistance for casualties.

Names and nationalities are being withheld until the next of kin are notified.
