BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan (August 4, 2008) – Several militants were killed and the target of the operation, an anti-coalition militant, was detained during a Coalition forces operation, Sunday, in Ghazni province.

Coalition forces searched compounds in Waghez District targeting a militant that has planed IED attacks and conducted indirect-fire attacks against Coalition forces.

Several armed militants attempted to engage the force, who responded with small-arms fire, killing the militants.

Coalition forces discovered IED-making materials, several AK-47s, ammunition vests and ammunition.  The items were destroyed to prevent any future use.
