Coalition soldier killed in combat operation

KORENGAL VALLEY, Afghanistan - A Coalition soldier was killed today by small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Kunar Province at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Three Coalition soldiers were wounded and are being treated at Coalition medical facilities. The names and nationalities of the servicemembers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The incident is currently under investigation.
